This is what I am learning for the past few days for my OTL lab session. I did the access cavity for a lateral incisor and few premolars. It was quite easy to find the canals, but it became difficult when you dont know what you are doing and just follow what your supervisor said blindly. That was my biggest problem!
Today, we did the obturation or you can say filling the canal after canal preparation is completed. To make it easy for us to learn, we used the endoview. It is a transparent block with the canal, so basically we can see the canal while we are doing all the steps compare to natural tooth where we have to work blindly. We used Gutta Percha to obturate the canal. My supervisor explained about the steps and the instruments that we need. She said about finger spreader but I was so blurred. I couldnt imagine what she was talking about because I didnt even know how it looks like! hahaha But, at the end of the session I managed to obturate the canal even though it’s not finish yet and I think I have clearer picture of what I am doing.
I think it’s a bit unclear because it is totally new to me. It will get better, I hope! :)
